The visitor can explore the beautiful forest of Spetses starting  from many points of the village. One of the possible itineraries follows the road to Kasteli, leaving behind the little churches of Agios Sotiras and Agios Dimitrios. We keep walking until we reach the water tanks and the cemetery of Agios Adrianos. Further up, a big stone house, known in the older days as “Port Arthur”. On our way up, we will leave on our right the lovely little church of Agia Markella, and a little further high, the Panagia of Tzila or Kapsodematoussa which is celebrated on the 2nd of July. At one point we will reach the “Hunters’ shelter”. From there, you can see the coast of Peloponnese, the islands of Dokos, Trikeri and Hydra and the town of Spetses. The road splits in two. On the left, it goes to “CHARA”, formerly the house of Maria and Eirini Botassi, with its little church of the “Three Spetsiots”. Going straight from the “Hunters’ shelter”, we come across a rather large path which takes us to the observation post, originally built by the Italians during the 2nd World War occupation. Today, it is used for the fire protection during summer months.

Following this path, we reach the land of “Daskalakis” where stands the little church of the Virgin. On the 1st of September, after the liturgy, the hunters and their friends organize an outdoor party. Back to the road, we keep walking to find the Prophet Elias, highest point of Spetses. We climb on the rock where the little church is set, to admire the view and refresh ourselves to the rain water of the cistern. From there, we have a choice of destinations. Paths and roads lead us to the known beaches of the island. On the way, the visitor will stop often to enjoy the magnificent view over the sea, the coast of Peloponnese, the island and the scents of the pine trees forest.
