From the port of Dapia to Analipsi

Starting from “Dapia”, we cross the Town clock square, the best known square in the center, which regroups all kind of tavernas, restaurants and bars. On its Southwest corner stands the Town clock, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century by George I. Leonidas.

We take the inside road parallel to the coastline, following the signs “To Spetses Museum” and soon enough we reach the Mansion of Chatzigianni Mexi – Spetses Museum. In this imposing building with the high arches and the bust of the hero crafted by the sculptor Byron Kesses, the visitor may see various archeological artifacts and exhibits from the Greek Revolution. Further on our way, we reach a triangle where is set the Agios Elefterios Church, and where the road splits in two. The road heading toward the hill leads to the area called “Kokkinaria” and ends up to the Monasteries of “Agios Panton” and “Panagia Gorgoepikoou”. The other road leads to the square of the Church of “Analipsi”, in which Easter is celebrated in a spectacular traditional way. From there, the road splits again in two. One goes toward the “Palio Limani” (Old Harbour), passing by old mansions and the other one goes to the beach of Agia Marina and the coastline road of the island.
